Quick trip to Trujillo & Chimbote

Yesterday morning (Monday), we arrived home following a fun-filled weekend in Trujillo and Chimbote, located about 6 hours up the coast. Bro. Emiliano Alejo (pastor in Los Artesanos) and his wife, Sis. Susanna, Bro. Jaime Alva and his wife, Sis. Julia, and I comprised the travelling crew.

The man who has been working in the Trujillo area for the past several months, Bro. Moises Ramirez, was to be installed as pastor of the church there in Trujillo as well as the church in Paiján. And since Bro. Alejo is the Atalaya (kind of like a Presbyter) for that region, he was to conduct the installation, and he requested us to accompany him.

Late, Friday night, after seminary classes were over, we piled into Bro. Alejo's car and, after a quick pit stop in Roky's Chicken, took off for the north. At approximately 6 AM the following morning, we arrived safely at the Chimbote church where we met up with Pastor Hermes Mendoza. There in his church, we rested and chatted a bit until, maybe an hour later, we all piled back in the car (add Bro. Mendoza) and headed another couple hours further north to Trujillo, where we were to have the joint fellowship meeting (of sorts) & installation service that night (Saturday).

Bro. Jaime did a tremendous job preaching that night in Trujillo as well as the following night (Sunday) in Chimbote. During our trip we made a lot of memories, took a lot of pictures, and had an all around great time! I am very thankful and honored to have been a part of this crew.

Please delight as you peruse the following few photos of our enjoyable weekend.

We ran into a small problem with the highway patrol,
but when Bro. Emiliano told him he was a Pastor they let us go.
The ministry has its benefits! :)

We all waited in the car

We went to the mall to eat lunch. That's the kid that was to wash our car.
We took this photo to identify the culprit if anything in our car went missing. haha

Once again, it was another great post. At least you can sing (some of us have voices that make people cry and not from the influence of the Spirit). I am only partially fluent in one language and could use a little help with the areas you used Spanish. I think the only word i recognized was 'chicken'.

Ever and always,

Jonathan

Great pics! Makes me think of the trip I made up the coast, but past Trujillo to Chiclayo. Great to see Bro. Mendoza's work progressing in Chimbote, and to see a good church in Trujillo...!

Hey Brother Jarron! Praise the Lord fellow Misionero! I am so happy for you to have this wonderful experience of bringing JESUS to the lost! Enjoyed all the pictures! You know what is unusual is we have a group of Peruvian Indians (Inca?) who travel around between Munich and Augsburg and Nurenburg as well and play that Peruvian type music with the pan pipes and all and sell CD'S they seem to do quite well because their music is beautiful and Germans really enjoy good music! HEY! Try and figure out how to be come a follower on my blog and then tell me how you did it! I have alot of people telling me they want to follow but aren't being accepted, others just pop up on the list. Anyway God Bless You Friend! I admire you! Brother Joseph Conroy in Germany
